Our Team

Our Team is the list of everyone inside your organization and what each person can do. It’s also where you invite new people and chase up invitations nobody has accepted.

You’ll find it in the sidebar under System Controls → Our Team.

Anyone who can reach your organization can see balances, contacts or payments, depending on their access. You need to know who those people are, and you need to be able to answer who can do what when an auditor, a board member or a new signer asks. Our Team gives you that answer one person at a time, including where each piece of access comes from.

  1. You invite someone by email and pick at least one group for them.
  2. They get an email with a link. The link works for 3 days.
  3. They sign in and accept. They now appear on the Team tab, with the access their groups carry.
  4. Access comes from groups. Everything a group can do, its members can do. An individual can also hold a permission directly, on top of their groups.
  5. Titles and tags describe people but grant nothing. Only groups and direct grants give access.

For the full walkthrough, see Invite teammates and choose what they can do.

  • Someone joins your finance, ops or legal team.
  • You’re answering an access review. Open a person to see exactly what they can do and why.
  • Someone’s role changes and they need to move between groups.
  • An invitation hasn’t been accepted and needs resending or cancelling.

The page has two tabs, Team and Invites, with one search box that searches whichever tab is open.

Everyone who has accepted an invitation. The Groups column shows each person’s groups. No group means they’re in none, so they only have what’s been granted to them directly or to everyone. A key icon with a number counts the permissions they hold directly, outside any group.

Click a person to open their details on the right:

  • Overview: their name, email and status, their Groups, and Titles & tags. Click a group to open it on the Groups page. Click Add to group to change which groups they’re in.
  • KYC: the identity information on file for them, used when you apply for a bank account for one of your entities. It’s hidden unless you have View sensitive organization details.
  • Permissions: their Effective access, grouped by app. Next to each permission you see where it comes from: a group, Direct, or Everyone. If you see No access yet., they hold nothing. If you see Couldn’t load this person’s access. Please try again., that’s a loading problem, not a finding. Try again before you report it.

People who’ve been invited but haven’t accepted yet. Each row shows who was invited, the groups they’ll join, and Pending.

  • Resend sends a fresh email and restarts the 3-day clock. The link in the earlier email stops working.
  • Revoke cancels the invitation. You’re asked Revoke invitation? first. The link stops working immediately.

The Actions menu at the top right has:

  • Invite Teammate: invite someone new and put them in their groups.
  • Add Teammates To Groups: give people already on the team the access a group carries. Access is additive, so adding groups only ever grants more.
  • Organization Settings: goes to the organization-wide settings.
  • Invitations expire after 3 days. Use Resend to send a new link.
  • One open invitation per email. Inviting the same address again cancels the earlier invitation and sends a new one.
  • The invitee must sign in with the email you invited. Signing in with a different address won’t accept the invitation.
  • Invitations and group changes need at least one group. You can’t send an invitation without picking one, and Add to group won’t let you uncheck every group.
  • Your organization always keeps an Owner. You can’t take the last Owner out of the Owner group. Make someone else an Owner first.
  • Owner and Admin are special. Only Owners can put people in, or take them out of, the Owner and Admin groups. An Admin who invites someone can only choose Finance, Operations, Legal or your own custom groups.

Manage team comes only with the Owner or Admin group. It can’t be given to anyone else, and it also lets someone see the team.

If you can’t open the page, it says You do not have permission to view the team and lets you request access. If you try to invite someone without Manage team, you’re told only Owners and Admins can do it.
