Add a vendor or contact
Goal
Add a person or business you work with, and the wallet or bank account you’ll pay them through.
How it works
You type in their details and account yourself. If you’d rather the contact enter their own details and payment account, follow Ask a contact to enter their own details and payment account instead.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You have the Add and edit contacts permission. (Who can use it)
- You have their name and email. For a business, you need its legal name and at least one person there with an email.
- You have the account you’ll pay: a wallet address, or the bank account number (routing number or SWIFT/BIC if you have it).
Add the contact
Section titled “Add the contact”- In the sidebar, click Contacts.You see the list of contacts.

. - Under
What kind of contact is this?
, click Business or Individual. - Under Role(s), pick what they are to you, e.g. Vendor. You can pick more than one, or none.
- Under
How do you want to add them?
, choose Add manually. - Click Continue.You see Business details or Individual details.
- Fill in the details.
- Business: Legal business name is required. Entity type, EIN / Tax ID and the address are optional.
- Individual: First name, Last name and Email are required. Phone, Tax ID and the address are optional.
- Click Continue.For a business you see Contact details. For an individual, skip to step 10.
- For a business, add the people there. Fill in First name, Last name and Email for each, and a Title if you like. Click + Add another person for more, and Make primary contact on the main one. Then click Continue.You see Account details.
- Choose Onchain account or Bank account.
- Enter the account.
- Onchain: paste the Wallet address. Leave Networks accepted and Assets accepted empty to accept all, or pick specific ones.
- Bank: fill in Account holder, Bank name, Account number and Routing number / BIC. Only the account number is required to save.
- Click Add contact.The window closes. The new contact is selected in the list, with their profile open on the right.
No account yet? On step 11, click Skip for now. The contact is saved without one, and you can add it later (see below).
Adding someone who works at a business you already have? Add them to that business instead, so they stay linked. Click the business, click Edit contact, then + Add contact.
Add an account to an existing contact
Section titled “Add an account to an existing contact”- In the sidebar, click 3rd Party Accounts.
- Click Actions at the top right, then Add New 3rd Party Account.A window opens titled Add 3rd party account.
- Under 3rd party, choose the contact.
- Give it an Account name, e.g.

. - Choose Onchain account or Bank account and enter the details, as in step 11 above.
- Click Add account.For a wallet, the window changes to Send a test transfer? For a bank account, it closes and the account opens in the panel.
- For a wallet, click Send test transfer to verify it now, or Skip for now.If you send the test, you get a link to pass to the owner. See Verify someone’s wallet with a test transaction.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”- In the sidebar, click 3rd Party Accounts and find the new account.
- Check its Status:
- A wallet reads Untested until its owner confirms a test transfer. Test it before the first payment.
- A bank account reads Incomplete until its details are complete and submitted. Click Complete details to see what’s missing. It can’t be paid until it’s Approved.
