Add a Safe multisig
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You have the Manage entities permission. (Who can use it)
- The entity that owns the Safe exists in Mezzanine. If not, add it first under Legal & Compliance → Entities.
- You have the Safe’s address, and you know which networks it’s deployed on.
- In the sidebar, click All Accounts. You see the list of your accounts.
- Click Actions at the top right, then Add Account.A window opens titled Add account.
- Under Crypto, click Safe. The window changes to Add Safe:
Choose how to add the Safe.
- Click Paste an address. You see a form:
We read the owners and threshold from the chain.
- Under Legal entity, choose the entity that owns the Safe. If your organization has one entity, it’s already filled in.
- Under Account name, give it a name you’ll recognise, e.g.
Foundation Treasury Safe
. - Under Safe address, paste the address. If it isn’t a valid address, you see
Please enter a valid Ethereum address (0x…)
. - Under Networks, choose the networks the Safe is on. Or leave it on All Networks: Mezzanine checks Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche and Hyperliquid, and adds the Safe wherever it finds it.
- Click Add Safe. The window closes. The Safe appears in All Accounts with Wallet · Safe under Type, one row for each network it was added on.
Panel closed? When no account is open in the panel on the right, it lists ways to add one. Click Safe to go straight to step 4.
Let Mezzanine find your Safes. On step 4, click Auto-detect instead. Mezzanine looks for Safes where your connected wallets are a signer or proposer. Click Add wallet to connect another one. Tick the Safes and networks you want, rename them if you like, and click Add Safe (it shows how many, e.g. Add 2 Safes). Auto-detect doesn’t ask which entity owns the Safes, so if your organization has more than one entity, use Paste an address.
Need a new Safe? On step 4, click Create a new Safe. Choose the Network, Owners and Threshold, then click Continue. Check the summary on Confirm new Safe and click Deploy Safe. Sign the deployment in your wallet when it asks. You see Safe deployed:
The Safe is onchain and added to your accounts.
